Before we purchased Kwikset SmartKey for our home security, my husband and I had already installed Kwikset hardware throughout our property. The classic design and quality of Kwikset’s hardware was what initially caught our eye and prompted us to adorn our home with Kwikset knobs on all of the interior doors.

We purchased the SmartKey system as a convenient way to re-key our locks. Personally, I would rather take care of things myself than hire a contractor, so the fact that I could actually complete this task on my own appealed to me in itself.Once we familiarized ourselves with the product a bit more, we understood there were many beneficial factors SmartKey offered to us. The price point was right, the function is superior, and the installation/re-key process is easy as well. We found that the SmartKey door lock hardware was around the same price as a typical door lock – one that might otherwise have to be installed by someone else – and it was offered in the same style as our interior knobs, to keep a uniform aesthetic.Initially, we first used SmartKey to program our home’s exterior facing doors onto just one key, instead of the three that it originally took. Having the one key is extremely beneficial and a huge convenience for our family, as it eliminates extra keys and things to remember. My husband and I feel good knowing that in case we lose a key we will not have to worry about safety concerns since we can easily rekey our locks.

We recently moved and converted our home into a rental property, and the re-key technology has proven to be the most cost-effective way to change the property’s locks in between tenants. I like to do things myself; get my hands dirty, if you will. SmartKey allows us to take charge of our home security system with minimal work, easy installation, maximum security, and looks great doing so.
