Whether you are a brand-new Kevo™ user or are researching and considering the new bluetooth deadbolts from Kwikset®, this page is designed to walk you through how Kevo works.
Kevo is the only Bluetooth®-enabled smart lock on the market, providing a brand-new interface that doesn’t require a traditional key to open your door. The Kevo mobile app is compatible with iPhone 4s, 5, 5C and 5S, and allows the deadbolt to open at the touch of a finger. Though Android and Blackberry do not currently support all features required by Kevo, Kwikset has long-term plans to support all possible mobile devices. Click here to see the full list of Kevo-compatible devices, as well the opportunity to sign up for news and updates.
Installing Kevo is simple and requires a Phillips head screwdriver and 4 AA batteries (included). Be sure to check that all parts needed are there, and check dimensions before installation. Click here for a step-by-step Installation Guide Video.
Once you’ve installed your new Kevo, download the free Kevo app by simply logging in to the Apple App store via your compatible device. You can use the app for initial setup, as well as sending, transferring and disabling electronic keys (eKeys). The app will also provide a history of lock activity, and will allow you to configure other features and options.
With Kevo, your bluetooth smartphone is now your key, giving you one less thing to worry about. Kevo’s convenience and ease of use is perfect for those moments when your arms are full of groceries, you’re holding a child, or you simply want to go out for some exercise without worrying about carrying and/or losing a key along the way.
But don’t worry: Kevo also comes with a key fob you can keep in your purse or pocket, so you can still enjoy the lock’s convenience and touch-to-open feature without a smartphone. The key fob is pre-enrolled and no additional setup is needed.

The 5 minute install video was really helpful to watch before installing my Kevo. Glad to say I am now “key free” on my front door!
