If you’ve been following us on Facebook and Twitter, you know Kwikset was exhibiting at the International CES 2015 at the beginning of January. For those of you who were not lucky enough to score a ticket, allow us to give you our recap of the show.
2015 is the year of the smart home. Everyone is saying it, including USA Today. Sixty-three percent of home builders even say home technologies are more important to their overall marketing efforts than they were two years ago.
CEA, the producer of the CES, recognized the importance of the smart home and connected technologies, and for the first time ever, there was a dedicated marketplace for these brands and products at CES – the Smart Home Marketplace at CES Tech West, and your favorite lock brand was there. We also hung out at the Z-Wave Alliance booth at the Las Vegas Convention Center where we showcased several of our SmartCode deadbolts.
Kwikset used the show as a platform to continue the conversation around smart locks and the connected home. If you stopped at the Kwikset booth at Tech West, you would have seen…

I saw on this on Poc back when they were covering CES this year a few months ago. It perked my interest because I have a friend that crashes over so much, he might as well become a roommate. He works near my house and when his hours go late, he doesn’t like to drive home (he live a good distance away). I figured I could give him a key but what if he loses it, as well as a bunch of other concerns. If I could open it remotely or just give him a tmp code though that I can change anytime I want…that would work. Also, I love anything that involves buttons and making things work for me.
